Ballet barre fitness is all the rage right now, and rightfully so! Ballet moves not only tap into your inner dancer and help you express yourself physically, but they create the discipline that leads to a well-toned and supple body. A bit less rigorous than cardiovascular fitness based programming, ballet conditioning really focuses on creating space and cultivating pliability in the spine. This can lead to lifetime of flexibility in the back and neck which can keep you youthful and high functioning as you age. Ballet also helps open up the chest and front shoulders so you always walk through life with a lifted through the heart center and a dancer's confidence! As a member of Elise Joan Fitness and the "Kiss My Bliss" programming, you have access to all of our custom ballet on-demand workouts, which will lift, tone and shape your body with on point ballet fitness! If you're not yet a member, check out the FREE trial, and see how my ballet bliss segments can help you attain your goals while having fun and stretching your comfort zone!
So you're all set there... but did you know that inspiration plays a big role as well?
Keeping yourself motivated is a HUGE part of fitness. I share some encouragement on this site in the form of blogs, and quotes and videos... but you can help yourself out as well, and I wanted to share some ways you can! We all know ballet fitness goes hand in hand with nutrition, so what we put into our bodies DOES matter! As a reminder of this, I like to stock my fridge with lots of healthy, fresh unprocessed goodies, so I am never far from a nourishing meal. This way, I am less likely to snack on junk food or anything that will deter me from my wellness goals!
In addition, I like to post visual reminders of WHY I am committed to taking care of myself – body, heart, and mind. I place some of my favorite quotes in my journal, and write out my goals somewhere I can see them, but in particular.... I cover my fridge in inspiration! It may sound strange, but it totally works for me, and thought it might for you as well! I write affirmations on post-its, which I can always rotate in & out depending on what my goals are. "I am Strong" "I am healthy & well nourished" "I am in control of what I put into my body" "I am loved". ANYthing at all that works for you! This way... every time you go to the refrigerator you are reminded that you are making a choice. I also like to post pictures of my friends and family – along with cards or notes they have given me. These remind me exactly WHO I am staying fit and healthy for, so I can continue to show up for them (and ME) in the clearest, and most powerful way possible. I don't put artificial things into my friendships and relationships, so WHY would I put them into my body?
These kinds of visual reminders can really help work in tandem with my ballet conditioning videos to build your strong healthy body, heart and mind! Here is a peek into my kitchen just to get you started! I would LOVE to see pics of the inspiration you post as well!
